Severe Weather Alerts - Media Content Distribution

Only active newsrooms & journalists are permitted to subscribe to these distribution alerts.

Severe weather content notifications are sent out only when certain criteria have been met and content is of a newsworthy nature.

Email alerts can be as regular as multiple times a day to as infrequent as once every few months.
Severe weather email notifications are dependent on a number of factors aligning, these are:

  1. Forecast conditions that produce severe or hazardous weather (Storms, Bushfires, Flooding, Freezing, etc)
  2. Having an experienced videographer or photographer in place to capture an expected or unfolding event.
  3. Having an inexperienced videographer or photographer on scene as an incident is occurring.
  4. The content creator captures footage and photographs which meets or exceeds acceptable broadcast standards.
  5. Rights management of this content is secured to allow legal distribution via our organisation.
  6. Included interviews are reliable and truthful.
  7. Facts about the incident are accurate and as detailed as possible.
  8. Raw footage & photos are securely delivered within tight deadlines.
